Community Groups
VISIONS is committed to the empowerment of groups and organizations who have advocacy, outreach and service to their communities as their primary mission. In many cases, forward movement first requires that long standing and current issues related to class and race be addressed. Also, effective partnerships with area agencies often have to be developed. Assistance provided by VISIONS has helped communities start to build interpersonal, systemic and cross-cultural relationships through genuine coalitions of the Black, White and Latino communities. The resulting evidence of increased racial and economic equity validated the joint efforts of many parties. VISIONS consultants encourage the use of innovative techniques such as theatre pilot programs, art and other forms of media.
Services offered include:
- community facilitation;
- coalition building;
- coaching of Executive Directors and other key leaders;
- multicultural training; and
- technical assistance.
VISIONS and our clients wish to acknowledge that community projects are often supported by grant funding of foundations such as the Warner Foundation, the Z. Smith Reynolds Foundation, the W. K. Kellogg Foundation, the Mott Foundation, and others.
